The implementation of thepatients handover in Indonesia is not optimal yet, some of hospitals have a
Standard of Operational Procedure which still have many limitations. The preliminary studies that conducted,
acquired a data from all three nurses thatsaidevery ward has a Standard of Operational Procedures, The
implementation of nursinghandoveris a valuable experience to the nurses because it makes them understand the
patients better and increase their nursing knowledge.The research uses a qualitative method with penomenology
approach. The main informants are two team leaders and four nurses for each Cempaka Inpatient Ward. While,
the evaluation informant isthe head of Cempaka Inpatient Wards RSUD Dr. H. Soewondo Kendal. The research
that showed the form of nursing handover isNursing shift,the patients displacement on the level of care,
andother transition in care. The component of nursing handover consists of patients number, identity and
diagnose medic, nursing interventions that have and have not done, collaborative intervention and preparation
that have to be done.Teamwork during the implementation ofNursing Handoveris complete each other.
Handover component:visit patients/ walk roundand the completeNursing Handoverin Cempaka Inpatient
WardRSUD done during the morning shift change.The future researchers suggested to dig deeper on the
implementation of nursing handover and how the impacts if did not carry out nursing handover
